The XU Frame Tip Tops are a great choice for heavy duty saltwater spinning, Over head and trolling rods, whether that be for a repair or a new build, MG's medium-long tube and high brace entry on the ring combine to make it a stout contender in any layout. With a virtually tangle-free design and deep-pressed O Ring for durability, The larger ring and tube sizes make an excellent saltwater choice.

To select your tip size simply match the ring diameter of the replacement tip or the first guide from the tip, (The new tip should be the same size or smaller than the first guide,) These measurements are expressed in millimetres and is the first number in the tip size measurement ie 8mm

Next, determine the size or diameter of the tip sleeve, do this by measuring the diameter of the blank about 10mm from the end. Tips come with a measurement called a tip pipe diameter; this is the measurement you should match to your blank diameter. For example a blank measurement of 3.6mm at 10mm from the end will mean you choose a tip with a tip pipe diameter of 3.6 and is the second number in the Tip size measurement.

Once you have combined your ring size and tip diameter you have the required tip top, This tip top measurement is referenced as 8/3.6 and means for example 8mm ring diameter and 3.6mm tip pipe diameter.

Once you have selected your tip to suit your rod blank you can remove the old tip with a lighter by gently heating the tube of the old tip and pull the old tube off. To glue the new tip in place by using a lighter and melting some Fuji hot melt glue on the end of the blank and then slide the tip sleeve over the blank, Rotate the new tip when sliding over the rod blank will help to secure. Minor adjustments can be made by reheating and adjusting the tip.
